We close out Mental Health Awareness Month today. However, that doesn’t mean that you should forget about promoting and protecting your employees’ mental health until next May. Remember, good mental health is good for your bottom line. Keep employees happy and it will pay dividends!
Tip #20: Go on a scavenger hunt. Get your employees up, out, talking, and thinking. Getting your mental (and physical) juices flowing is good for your overall health. We released a 10-item scavenger hunt this week, including riddles to solve, documents to find, poems to write, pictures to take, and other fun challenges.
Tip #21: Share some of your culture. Sharing your culture with your coworkers promotes a sense of belonging. Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church is hosting its annual Grecian Festival this weekend and I invited all of my coworkers to attend. Nothing is better for your mental health than a big slice of baklava.
Tip #22: Dress alike. Promoting a sense of unity is good for your mental health. We’re ordering T-shirts with the Firm’s logo on them for employees. We’ll wear them for volunteer opportunities, team building events, casual Fridays, among other times.
Tip #23: Ring the bell! A day or evening outside at the ballpark is great for your mental health (especially if the Phillies are playing well). On the final day of Mental Health Awareness Month, we gathered in a conference room to spin the big wheel and awarded two tickets to a Phillies game to one of our employees.
