Effective June 19, 2024, New York Labor Law Section 206-c provides to all employees the right to paid break time to express breast milk in the workplace regardless of the size of their employer and regardless of the industry in which they work.  Employers are required to inform employees of their rights under this law by providing them with the New York State Department of Labor Policy on the Rights of Employees to Express Breast Milk in the Workplace when they start a new job and annually thereafter.  Quick reference guides, Frequently Asked Questions, and other resources, including information regarding how to file a complaint under Labor Law Section 206-c, are available on the New York State Department of Labor website.
