On Sunday, October 13, Rubin Fortunato employees, along with their spouses and children, came together to support The Timothy School’s 7th annual Family Fun Run for which Rubin Fortunato also was a Platinum Sponsor.  The Timothy School is Pennsylvania’s oldest non-profit approved private school for students with autism.  It seeks to educate and empower students with the communication, social, cognitive, and life skills necessary to enable them to function as effectively and independently as possible in the least restrictive environment.

Sporting our new Rubin Fortunato tee-shirts from Custom Ink, we either ran a 5K or walked one mile to raise money for the Timothy Fund, which provides crucial funds to support educational programs for the School’s students.

The first place 5K runner was our very own, Donald Rubendall, who completed the race in a photo finish!

Prior to the Fun Run, we had the pleasure of working with Spectrum Works – a non-profit organization located in Secaucus, New Jersey that is dedicated to providing job training and employment opportunities for high school students and other young adults on the autism spectrum – to produce travel mugs (inspired by The Timothy School’s Coffee Cart on-campus internship program) containing the Rubin Fortunato logo that were provided to Fun Run participants.

The sun was shining; the temperature was perfect; the School’s music therapist, Jake, was strumming his guitar and singing; kids were enjoying sensory activities, lawn games, a bounce house, and the park’s playground; and everyone had an opportunity to participate in raffles, purchase the amazing work of The Timothy Crafters, and enjoy refreshments – all made possible by the School’s amazing volunteers.  It was an amazing event for a great cause!
