EARN Launched a New Webpage on Workplace Flexibility

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). An initiative of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), NDEAM celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and highlights supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees.
The ODEP-funded Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) offers information and resources to help employers recruit, hire, retain, and advance people with disabilities, build inclusive workplace cultures, and meet diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals. EARN has launched a new webpage on the benefits of workplace flexibility.
Workplace flexibility has become increasingly common, especially during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. Many organizations offer employees choices on how, when, and where to work. This flexibility supports and attracts workers with disabilities. EARN’s new webpage contains resources that highlight topics that intersect with workplace flexibility, like caregiving, equity, and transportation.
Employers should be sure that all employees are aware of any updates to policies surrounding workplace flexibility. As a result, employees are more likely to take advantage of those policies to increase productivity.
