Michael J. Fortunato has more than 15 years of experience counseling and
representing employers in the full spectrum of employment law, including
age, gender and race discrimination and sexual harassment matters. He also
has extensive experience in the enforcement of restrictive covenants and the
protection of trade secrets and confidential business information through
emergency injunctive relief, particularly in the securities industry. Mr.
Fortunato has represented clients in numerous arbitrations before the
National Association of Securities Dealers, New York Stock Exchange, JAMS,
and AAA, and has represented clients in over 100 hearings in federal and
state courts nationally. In addition to arbitrating numerous cases, Mr.
Fortunato has extensive investigation, litigation, and mediation experience
involving claims of gender, race, and age discrimination, wrongful
termination, constructive discharge, and related claims. Mr. Fortunato also
has prosecuted and defended "raiding" claims in securities arbitrations. Mr.
Fortunato supervises a team of lawyers who represent clients on the wide
range of issues arising in today's workplace. Mr. Fortunato received his
undergraduate and law degrees from The Catholic University of America in
Washington, DC, where he served as the Senior Lead Article and Book Review
Editor of the Catholic University Law Review. Mr. Fortunato has received an
AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been a featured speaker at ABA
events regarding mediation and arbitration advocacy.
