For nearly a decade, Ms. Tsipras has been counseling and representing employers on a wide variety of employment issues, ranging from restrictive covenants to discrimination and retaliation. She regularly appears before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in connection with securities industry employment arbitrations.

Ms. Tsipras has been a presenter at management training programs to discuss best employment practices, as well as industry-specific regulations and policies. She also assists in the management of the Firm’s employment group. In that role, her top priority is to facilitate communication between the group and its clients and between the group and the Firm’s other practice groups.

In everything she does, Ms. Tsipras prides herself on keeping her clients well-informed and on being responsive, thorough, and always prepared.

  • Presented to new managers of broker-dealer client some best practices for hiring, employing, and terminating registered representatives, March 2010 and May 2009

Practice Highlights

  • Robert Knight v. Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated: FINRA arbitration panel granted Merrill Lynch's motion to dismiss on statute of limitations grounds a registered representative's claim that he was wrongfully terminated. The Northern District of California denied the registered representative's petition to vacate the arbitration award and the Ninth Circuit affirmed.
